Realizability models for BLL-like languages

We give a realizability model of Girard-Scedrov-Scott’s Bounded Linear Logic (BLL). This gives a new proof that all numerical functions representable in that system are polytime. Our analysis naturally justifies the design of the BLL syntax and suggests further extensions.

Realizability for programming languages

We present a toy functional programming language inspired by our work on the PML language [22] together with a criterion ensuring safety and the fact that non termination can only occur via recursive programs. To prove this theorem, we use realizability techniques and a semantical notion of types. Important features of PML like polymorphism, proof-checking, termination criterion for recursive f...

Realizability of Dynamic MSC Languages

We introduce dynamic communicating automata (DCA), an extension of communicating finite-state machines that allows for dynamic creation of processes. Their behavior can be described as sets of message sequence charts (MSCs). We consider the realizability problem for DCA: given a dynamic MSC grammar (a high-level MSC specification), is there a DCA defining the same set of MSCs? We show that this...

Presheaf models for CCS-like languages

The aim of this paper is to harness the mathematical machinery around presheaves for the purposes of process calculi. Joyal, Nielsen and Winskel proposed a general definition of bisimulation from open maps. Here we show that open-map bisimulations within a range of presheaf models are congruences for a general process language, in which CCS and related languages are easily encoded. The results ...

Realizability Models for Sequential Computation

We give an overview of some recently discovered realizability models that embody notions of sequential computation, due mainly to Abramsky, Nickau, Ong, Streicher, van Oosten and the author. Some of these models give rise to fully abstract models of PCF; others give rise to the type structure of sequentially realizable functionals, also known as the strongly stable functionals of Bucciarelli an...
